Development and Characterization of Photocatalytic GaN Coatings by Cold Spray Process

چکیده
For the first time, low-pressure cold spray (LPCS) process was used to manufacture gallium nitride (GaN) films enhance its photocatalytic properties and decrease manufacturing cost. The deposition behavior of GaN powder on stainless steel substrates investigated. Several specimens, with sparsely deposited agglomerated particles, were prepared under different conditions. Quantitative analysis evolution coverage area, particle count, average sectional area shows that, upon impact, particles disintegrate, leading large small particles. By analyzing cross-sectional particle, no discernible permanent deformation substrate observed. In addition, x-ray diffraction coatings indicated that phase transformation occurred during process. Based Williamson–Hall analysis, broader peaks mainly attributed distortions in lattice rather than changes crystallite size. At 400°C 0.6 MPa, efficiency reached 5.3%, activities coating about 33% (+9% compared powder). It is higher specific surface roughness exhibit after breakage spray.

Structure and Properties of Cold Spray Coatings
Cold spray coatings are considered promising for surface protection of light metal substrates but the mechanisms of bonding and coating build-up are still poorly understood and are the subject of continuing debate. A variety of coating/substrate combinations have been characterised in detail using electron microscopy to examine the nature of the interparticle and particle/substrate interfaces. ...
متن کاملBio-ceramic Composite Coatings by Cold Spray Technology
Bioceramics such as hydroxyapatite (HAP) have been conventionally deposited by plasma spray technique. However, due to the inherent high temperature in the plasma, deleterious effects such as evaporation, phase alteration, residual stress, debonding, and gas release etc., commonly occur in these coatings. This paper presents a novel approach to deposit bioceramic coatings at temperatures well b...
متن کاملCharacterization of hydroxyapatiteynano-zirconia composite coatings deposited by high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray process
Hydroxyapatite (HA)ynano-zirconia composite coatings were successfully produced through high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying of radio frequency (RF) plasma synthesized powders. Microstructure characterization and morphology analysis on the nano-structured coatings were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and d...

Sol-gel process was chosen to produce a photocatalytic film to degrade methylene blue. In order to study structural and morphological properties of the coatings, a base sol of TTIP, I-PrOH, and DEA was prepared. Then with addition of 45g/L PEG 2000, 30g/L TiO2 and 15g/L PEG 2000 + 30g/L TiO2, to the base sol, three other sols were produced. The results of this study indica...
متن کاملTHE EFFECTS OF PLASMA SPRAY PARAMETERS ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND PHASE COMPOSITION OF THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS MADE BY SPPS PROCESS
In this paper the effect of plasma spray parameters, atomizing gas and substrate preheat temperature on microstructure and phase composition of YSZ coatings produced by SPPS process have been investigated. The experimental results showed that increasing the power of plasma, using hydrogen as the precursor atomizing gas and increasing substrate preheat temperature decrease the amount of non-pyro...
