Development of Digital Culture Research — Bibliometric Analysis Using CiteSpace

The article contains a bibliometric analysis conducted on the basis of bibliographic data from years 1996–2022, extracted Scopus database (May 2022). method used involved steps beyond traditional counting publications and citations as well drawing conclusions based reading content academic papers. Complete biographic datasets were for advanced analyses performed in program CiteSpace. state research into digital culture may be described follows: (1) it constitutes new area that has seen particularly intensive development last 15 or so; (2) systematic is by small set researchers; (3) they publish findings their selection journals (around dozen) books; (4) books contribute most to such (mainly around dozen popular ones); (5) subject-matter this embraces mainly issues as: copyright law, critical studies, art, network society, media, modernity, information technology, digitalisation, influencers, internet era, memes, social networks, video games, visual culture.
