Diagnosis and management of ectopic ureter in a low resource setting – A case series

Aims: To review the experience of women and girls treated for ectopic ureter in Surkhet through fistula camps Fistula Treatment Centre analyse diagnostic method, management outcome.
 Methods: This was a retrospective study patients with who received treatment since 2009. Data were analysed from patient records interviews.
 Results: Seven diagnosed over period 12 years. Five prepubertal age range 7 - 15 History continuous incontinence normal voiding suggestive ureteric six out seven cases. The seventh case had massive ureterocele distal end duplex right ureter. Ultrasound suggested diagnosis collecting system five IVU or CT only three Diagnosis confirmed by examination under anaesthesia after i.v. frusemide All cases managed implantation into bladder. In heminephrectomy performed. are well at follow-up between 6 months years presentation. 
 Conclusion: Ectopic is treatable cause urinary may be overlooked. A lifelong history leakage voiding, absence trauma surgical procedure should raise suspicion. Examination anaesthetic ultrasound proved most effective confirming
