Different Gene Expression Patterns of Hexose Transporter Genes Modulate Fermentation Performance of Four Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strains

چکیده

In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the fermentation rate and ability to complete sugar transformation process depend on glucose fructose transporter set-up. Hexose transport mainly occurs via facilitated diffusion carriers these are encoded by HXT gene family GAL2. addition, FSY1, coding a fructose/H+ symporter, was identified in some wine strains. This little-known could be relevant last part of when is most abundant sugar. this work, we investigated expression hexose transporters during late phase, means qPCR. Four S. cerevisiae strains (P301.9, R31.3, R008, isolated from vineyard, commercial EC1118) were considered levels determined evaluate how strain pattern modulated process. The very low global poor performance R008 suggested that overall level determinant obtain total consumption. Each showed specific profile strongly variable. led rethinking importance HXT3 previously play major role transport. vineyard strains, other genes, such as HXT6/7, HXT8, higher levels, resulting patterns properly supported

CLONING AND EXPRESSION OF HUMAN IFNα2B GENE IN SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE

Interferon is a protein secreted by eucaryotic cells following stimulation by viruses, bacteria, and many other immunogenes. Recent medical studies indicate that interferons have effective role in the treatment of virus infections, immunodeficiency and certain types of cancer such as hairy cell leukaemia (HCL). The aim of the present study is to apply yeast strain for secreting human IFNα2b fol...

Hexokinase regulates kinetics of glucose transport and expression of genes encoding hexose transporters in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Glucose transport kinetics and mRNA levels of different glucose transporters were determined in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains expressing different sugar kinases. During exponential growth on glucose, a hxk2 null strain exhibited high-affinity hexose transport associated with an elevated transcription of the genes HXT2 and HXT7, encoding high-affinity transporters, and a diminished expression...

Comparison of xylose fermentation by two high-performance engineered strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Economical biofuel production from plant biomass requires the conversion of both cellulose and hemicellulose in the plant cell wall. The best industrial fermentation organism, the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, has been developed to utilize xylose by heterologously expressing either a xylose reductase/xylitol dehydrogenase (XR/XDH) pathway or a xylose isomerase (XI) pathway. Although it has be...

Isolation, Subtype Determination, Cloning and Expression of HBsAg Gene from an Iranian Carrier in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

The Hepatitis B Surface antigen ( HBsAg) gene was isolated from an Iranian HBeAg positive carrier by PCR. The gene was cloned in pUC19 for sequencing and pYES2 for expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which pNF1 and pDF3 constructs were made respectively. The sequencing data showed that the isolated HBsAg gene shared more than 90% homology with the ayw subtype. The pDF3 was transferred into ...
