Moment Maps and Geometric Invariant Theory
These are expanded notes from a set of lectures given at the school “Actions Hamiltoniennes: leurs invariants et classification” at Luminy in April 2009. The topics center around the theorem of Kempf and Ness [58], which describes the equivalence between the notion of quotient in geometric invariant theory introduced by Mumford in the 1960’s [80], and the notion of symplectic quotient introduce...
متن کاملD/G-valued moment maps
We study Dirac structures associated with Manin pairs (d, g) and give a Dirac geometric approach to Hamiltonian spaces with D/G-valued moment maps, originally introduced by Alekseev and Kosmann-Schwarzbach [3] in terms of quasi-Poisson structures. We explain how these two distinct frameworks are related to each other, proving that they lead to isomorphic categories of Hamiltonian spaces. We str...
متن کاملOn Fibers of Algebraic Invariant Moment Maps
In this paper we study some properties of fibers of the invariant moment map for a Hamiltonian action of a reductive group on an affine symplectic variety. We prove that all fibers have equal dimension. Further, under some additional restrictions, we show that the quotients of fibers are irreducible normal schemes.
متن کامل00 5 Projectively Invariant Star Products
It is shown that a (curved) projective structure on a smooth manifold determines on the Poisson algebra of smooth, fiberwise-polynomial functions on the cotangent bundle a one-parameter family of graded star products. For a particular value of the parameter (corresponding to half-densities) the star product is symmetric, and specializes in the projectively flat case to the one constructed previ...
متن کاملPartial Differentiability of Invariant Splittings
A key feature of a general nonlinear partially hyperbolic dynamical system is the absence of differentiability of its invariant splitting. In this paper, we show that often partial derivatives of the splitting exist and the splitting depends smoothly on the dynamical system itself.
