Digestate and Manure Use in Kohlrabi Production: Impact on Plant-Available Nutrients and Heavy Metals in Soil, Yield, and Mineral Composition

Digestate is a residue of the anaerobic decomposition organic waste for biogas extraction, but it can be reused as source nutrients. To examine effect digestate in kohlrabi production, field experiments were conducted during three seasons two calendar years. The fertilization treatments included application solid (two rates—DS1 and DS2), liquid rates—DL1 DL2), manure rates—MS1 MS2), mineral fertilizer (NPK) compared with plot without (Ø). results showed significant increase yield use digestate, well NPK, all growing seasons, while microelement contents (Zn, Mn, Cu) leaves at optimum level. applied did not plant-available nutrients (AL-P2O5, AL-K2O, Fe, Cu, Zn) soil (except Mn). DL2, MS1, MS2 led to higher Pb content stems control, remained below maximum permitted limit. Our research that used valuable low risk plant contamination by heavy metals. However, control soil, digestates, quality recommended.
