Discrete-Events Simulation for Teaching Statistics in Industrial Engineering

This paper presents a discrete events simulation tool developed to support undergraduate students in their Statistics and Data Analysis course. Although the use of modern smart technologies industry contributes profusion data, very few enterprise datasets are freely available, resulting serious lack open real-world data for research education. To overcome this difficulty, we designed that simulates scheduling scenarios manufacturing environment. The generated may be used put statistical concepts methods into practice design cost-effective strategies optimizing key performance indicators, such as reducing production time, improving quality, eliminating wastes, maximizing profits.
