Disorder-induced phase transitions in a spinful one-dimensional system

چکیده

We analyse a modified set of renormalisation group equations for disordered spinful fermions described by the Luttinger liquid model. The modification is necessary to take special care factitious admixture disorder interaction coupling constants undergoing renormalisation. Only properly separated amplitudes elastic and inelastic processes allow identification true phases construction phase diagram (a similar procedure has been earlier implemented spinless case). In case, these enable us demonstrate that in some region bare parameters values contains two massive phases, charge (CDW) spin (SDW) density waves, which are an insulating phase. These gapped achieved at finite critical temperatures vanish boundaries indicating presence disorder-induced quantum transition. as function reasonably well fit stretch exponential with universal stretching exponent ?=1/3. A transition between CDW SDW driven strength not predicted before this observation must be taken into account when analysing recent multiple experiments on transitions quasi-one-dimensional structures.

Pressure-induced structural phase transitions in a two-dimensional system

We have performed molecular-dynamics simulation to analyze structural phase transitions in a twodimensional system using a model which has been proposed to study pressure-induced martensitic transformation in iron. At low temperatures, the square↔hexagonal phase transition was observed at P =5.4 1 and the reverse transition occurred only by application of tension on the system. At a temperature...

One-dimensional phase transitions in a two-dimensional optical lattice

A phase transition for bosonic atoms in a two-dimensional anisotropic optical lattice is considered. If the tunnelling rates in two directions are different, the system can undergo a transition between a two-dimensional superfluid and a one-dimensional Mott insulating array of strongly coupled tubes. The connection to other lattice models is exploited in order to better understand the phase tra...

Phase Transitions in one-dimensional nonequilibrium systems

The phenomenon of phase transitions in one-dimensional systems is discussed. Equilibrium systems are reviewed and some properties of an energy function which may allow phase transitions and phase ordering in one dimension are identified. We then give an overview of the one-dimensional phase transitions which have been studied in nonequilibrium systems. A particularly simple model, the zero-rang...

Quantum Phase Transitions in an Integrable One-Dimensional Spin Model

A one-dimensional spin model, recently introduced and solved exactly, is studied. The solution, showing the appearance of a first-order quantum phase transition, is explicitly carried out and verified. Moreover, new results are found by generalizing the model to include anisotropy, thereby giving additional phases with both first-order and continuous quantum phase transitions. These transitions...

Apparent phase transitions in finite one-dimensional sine-Gordon lattices.

We study the one-dimensional sine-Gordon model as a prototype of roughening phenomena. In spite of the fact that it has been recently proven that this model cannot have any phase transition [J. A. Cuesta and A. Sánchez, J. Phys. A 35, 2373 (2002)], Langevin as well as Monte Carlo simulations strongly suggest the existence of a finite temperature separating a flat from a rough phase. We explain ...
