Holographic directive reflectors for reflective color LCDs
RGB directive color reflectors were implemented for bright reflective color LCDs. The reflection gain at a white display state was suggested to be 3.5 times as large as the white standard. The color gamut was found to be as wide as the NTSC standard. There observed little color shifts within the directive angle.
متن کاملSix-primary color projection display for expanded color gamut reproduction
A range of the reproducible color, i.e., color gamut, of the conventional display devices such as CRTs (cathode ray tubes) and LCDs (liquid crystal displays) is sometimes insufficient for reproducing the natural color of an object through color imaging systems. In this paper, a six-primary color display is developed to reproduce the expanded color gamut, by using two conventional RGB projectors...
متن کاملColor Reproduction of Mobile Display for Outdoor Viewing Condition
ABSTRACT: This paper proposes an illuminant-adaptive reproduction method using light adaptation and flare conditions for a mobile display. Mobile displays, such as PDAs and cellular phones, are viewed under various lighting conditions. In particular, images displayed in daylight are perceived as quite dark due to the light adaptation of the human visual system, as the luminance of a mobile disp...
متن کاملTechnology for Grade 1 LCDs
For decades, color-critical video monitoring for broadcast and post-production applications was performed on a reference (grade 1) CRT monitor, or a reference projector for cinema applications. Flat panel displays, although having clear advantages in terms of depth, longevity and insensitivity to magnetic fields, have until recently failed to produce accurate and stable pictures as required for...
متن کاملLCDs Versus CRTs—Color-Calibration and Gamut Considerations
This paper presents a comparative evaluation of liquid-crystal display (LCDs) and cathode-ray tube (CRT) displays from a color-rendition and color-calibration perspective. Common display calibration models and assumptions are reviewed and their applicability to LCDs and CRTs is evaluated through an experimental study. The displays are compared with respect to the color-calibration accuracy, eas...
