Does Double Biofeedback Affect Functional Hemispheric Asymmetry and Activity? A Pilot Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the current pilot study, we attempt to find out how double neurofeedback influences functional hemispheric asymmetry and activity. We examined 30 healthy participants (8 males; 22 females, mean age = 29; SD 8). To measure activity, used computer laterometry in "two-source" lead-lag dichotic paradigm. Double biofeedback included 8 min of EEG oscillation recording with five minutes basic mode. During mode, amplitude oscillator gets transformed into feedback sounds while alpha is modulate intensity light signals. did not directly influence itself but accelerated individual sound perception characteristics during listening preceding effect Further research needed investigate training on brain activity asymmetry, taking account participants' age, gender, motivation.

Motivation, affect, and hemispheric asymmetry: power versus affiliation.
In 4 experiments, the authors examined to what extent information related to different social needs (i.e., power vs. affiliation) is associated with hemispheric laterality. Response latencies to a lateralized dot-probe task following lateralized pictures or verbal labels that were associated with positive or negative episodes related to power, affiliation, or achievement revealed clear-cut late...
متن کاملDoes Twice-weekly Cabergoline Improve Anthropometrical and Biochemical Profiles in Prediabetes? A Randomized Double-blind Clinical Trial Pilot Study
Dopaminergic signaling is one of the regulatory pathways being investigated for its implication in glucose metabolism. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of cabergoline on biochemical and anthropometric parameters in prediabetes stage (impaired fasting glucose and impaired glucose tolerance). In this double blind, placebo-controlled, pilot study, 27 prediabetic adults were random...

متن کاملDoes Avalanche Shovel Shape Affect Excavation Time: A Pilot Study
In Europe and North America, approximately 150 fatalities occur as a result of avalanches every year. However, it is unclear whether certain shovel shapes are more effective than others in snow removal during avalanche victim recovery. The objective was to determine the performance parameters with a developed standardized test using different shovel shapes and to determine sex-specific differen...
متن کاملHypnosis and hemispheric asymmetry.
Participants of low and high hypnotic susceptibility were tested on a temporal order judgement task, both with and without hypnosis. Judgements were made of the order of presentation of light flashes appearing in first one hemi-field then the other. There were differences in the inter-stimulus intervals required accurately to report the order, depending upon which hemi-field led. This asymmetry...
