Does the shadow economy increase income inequality in the short- and long-run? Empirical evidence from Uganda

This paper investigates whether the size of shadow economy increases income inequality in Uganda. p3aper applies autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach to cointegration, test long- and short-run relationship between inequality. The results indicate a positive statistically significant both long-run short-run, all else equal. show that large significantly inequality, short-run. suggests people who fail be absorbed into formal face fewer livelihood opportunities, giving them incentive operate as means survival, for their families since there are chances success economy.
