Drone and sensor technology for sustainable weed management: a review

چکیده
Abstract Weeds are amongst the most impacting abiotic factors in agriculture, causing important yield loss worldwide. Integrated Weed Management coupled with use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones), allows for Site-Specific Management, which is a highly efficient methodology as well beneficial to environment. The identification weed patches cultivated field can be achieved by combining image acquisition drones and further processing machine learning techniques. Specific algorithms trained manage weeds removal Autonomous Weeding Robot systems via herbicide spray or mechanical procedures. However, scientific technical understanding specific goals available technology necessary rapidly advance this field. In review, we provide an overview precision control focus on potential practical advanced sensors market. Much effort needed fully understand population dynamics their competition crops so implement approach real agricultural contexts.

Therefore, puddling for rice transplanting should be avoided as it has adverse effects on the succeeding upland crops. Unpuddled transplanting is an alternative method for rice establishment which can be adopted to overcome these problems and also to reduce cost of rice production. For this system, the lan...
متن کاملA nature-based approach for managing the invasive weed species Gutenbergia cordifolia for sustainable rangeland management
BACKGROUND The invasive weed species Gutenbergia cordifolia has been observed to suppress native plants and to dominate more than half of the entire crater floor (250 km2) in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). As this species has been found to be toxic to ruminants it might strongly impact animal populations in this ecologically diverse ecosystem. Hence, a nature-based approach is urgently...
متن کاملWeeds and Weed Management in India - A Review
India has a wide range of agroclimates and soil types. The highly diverse agriculture and fanning systems are beset with different types of weed problems. Weeds cause 10-80% crop yield losses besides impairing product quality and causing health and environmental hazards. Invasive alien weeds are a major constraint to agriculture, forestry and aquatic environment. Crop-specific problematic weeds...
