Dynamic anti-plane behavior of rare earth giant magnetostrictive medium with a circular cavity defect in semi-space

Abstract An analytical solution to the anti-plane dynamics problem of semi-space rare earth giant magnetostrictive media with circular cavity defects near horizontal boundary under action SH wave is studied. Based on Helmholtz theorem and theory complex function, elastic-magnetic dynamic equation medium established, incident field written. In addition, based function method expansion, expression scattered displacement corresponding magnetic potential condition no stress insulation are obtained. Then, conditions free stress, continuous induction intensity around cavity, infinite linear algebraic equations established. Finally, expressions concentration factor in Numerical examples show that analysis results depend following parameters: permeability, dimensional-piezomagnetic coefficient, frequency wave, angle, distance between boundary. These have certain reference value for study non-destructive testing failure materials.
