Dynamic calibration and seismic validation of numerical models of URM buildings through permanent monitoring data

The construction of reliable numerical models is a key aspect within the seismic assessment existing unreinforced masonry buildings. However, it also complex process due to many uncertainties involved that can affect structural response. In situ tests allow for acquisition data at local scale. Nonetheless, supplementary information representing global response necessary overcome other (i.e., wall-to-wall connections or floor stiffness). To this end, from ambient vibration (AVT) are useful support assessments. fact, they identification dynamic properties, which in refining calibration models. addition, address solutions aforementioned uncertainties. context, paper presents how efficiently exploit AVT by using case study former Courthouse Fabriano (Ancona, Marche). This structure has been monitored since 2010 Italian Department Civil Protection with network 28 accelerometers. As result, equivalent frame (EF) model was calibrated linear field thanks provided under operational conditions. Subsequently, nonlinear analyses were performed recordings acquired during Central Italy earthquake 2016/2017. Even if building experienced only slight behaviour, comparison between simulated and actual made possible validate EF model, especially reference capability reproducing amplification phenomena, extremely important non-structural components.
