چکیده
Summary The article presents an analysis of the dynamic behaviour discrete flexural systems composed Euler–Bernoulli beams. canonical object study is Green’s function, from which information regarding response lattice under point loading by forces and moments can be obtained. Special attention devoted to interaction between torsional waves in a square beams, shown yield range novel effects, including extreme anisotropy, asymmetric wave propagation, wave-guiding, filtering ability create localised defect modes, all without need for additional resonant elements or interfaces. analytical complimented numerical computations finite element simulations, both are used illustrate effects predicted. A general algorithm provided constructing functions as well modes. This allows tuning produce pass bands, band gaps, wave-guides over any desired frequency range.

Greens Functions for 3-D Seismic Migration
The space-time Greens functions for 3-D poststack and 3-D prestack migration in a homogeneous medium are derived under the fareld approximation. These Greens functions can be used to practically compute synthetic migrated images. Examples are given for the recording footprint noise associated with a point scatterer and a meandering river channel. The Greens functions also provide fundamental in...
متن کاملGreens Functions for the Wave Equation
I gather together known results on fundamental solutions to the wave equation in free space, and Greens functions in tori, boxes, and other domains. From this the corresponding fundamental solutions for the Helmholtz equation are derived, and, for the 2D case the semiclassical approximation interpreted back in the time-domain. Utility: scarring via time-dependent propagation in cavities; Math 4...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...

متن کاملInterpolating Value Functions in Discrete Choice Dynamic Programming Models
Structural discrete choice dynamic programming models have been shown to be a valuable tool for analyzing a wide range of economic behavior. A major limitation on the complexity and applicability of these models is the computational burden associated with computing the high dimensional integrals that typically characterize an agents decision rules. This paper develops a regression based approa...
