Dynamic human body models in vehicle safety: An overview

چکیده
Significant trends in the vehicle industry are autonomous driving, micromobility, electrification and increased use of shared mobility solutions. These new automation classes lead to a larger number occupant positions, interiors load directions. As safety systems interact with protect occupants, it is essential place human, its variability vulnerability, at center design operation these systems. Digital human body models (HBMs) can help meet requirements therefore increasingly being integrated into development models. This contribution provides an overview current HBMs their applications different driving modes. The authors briefly introduce underlying mathematical methods present selection reader. An table guideline values for simulation times, common available variants provided. To provide insight broad application HBMs, three case studies field safety: (i) in-crash finite element simulations injuries riders on motorcycle; (ii) scenario-based assessment active pre-crash behavior occupants Madymo multibody HBM; (iii) prediction take-over scenario using EMMA model.
