Dynamic response behavior of PTFE/Al/oxide reactive materials

Abstract PTFE/Al, as a kind of typical reactive material with high energy density and impact-induced reaction characteristics, has attracted extensive attention. Three kinds PTFE/Al/oxide materials were designed fabricated by introducing CuO, Fe 2 O 3 , MoO into their dynamic mechanical responses studied SHPB experiments. The results showed that the sample cracked undergoing strain rate compression, metal particles peeled off from matrix on microstructure, many PTFE filaments formed both ends crack. presents elastoplastic characteristics rates ranging 3000 s −1 to 7000 . With increase rate, failure stress three increased, showing significant strengthening effect. Among them, PTFE/Al/CuO highest strain. mechanism analysis shows porosity agglomeration effect lead number initial pores increasing in sample, these easily trigger propagation cracks
