Effect of Surface Roughness on Static Corrosion Behavior of J55 Carbon Steel in CO2-Containing Geothermal Water at 65 °C

The influence of surface roughness on the static corrosion behavior J55 carbon steel in CO2-containing geothermal water environment was investigated with respect to average rate, morphology, chemical composition, depth, and cross section products. CO2 then proposed based understanding at 65 °C. results show that rate increases increasing roughness. 5.3-fold by 1.4-fold under different exposure times. changes time. decreases increase time, there is little change after immersion for 2 days. At initial stage corrosion, mainly affected greater roughness, driving force reaction area therefore steel. After days, a continuous product layer formed layer. products are not altered environment. FeCO3 minute amount CaCO3.
