چکیده

In order to solve the underwater noise pollution and improve acoustic stealth performance of vehicles, NACA0020 was bionically modified according structure leading edge tubercles humpback fin. The flow field characteristics hydrofoil-turbulent interaction model before after modification were studied by using large eddy simulation FW-H equation. results show that wavy can effectively reduce turbulence hydrofoil, especially broadband 89.55 Hz. overall sound pressure level(OASPL) directivity hydrofoil are same as original both have dipole characteristics, but value in all directions is reduced a certain extent. OASPL calculated analyzed different frequency bands. has best reduction 1 000-5 000 Hz band, be up 12.6 dB. Through analysis field, it concluded effect mainly relates decrease fluctuation at coherence vortex spanwise direction caused enhancement flow.

On the reduction of aerofoil-turbulence interaction noise associated with wavy leading edges

An aerofoil leading-edge profile based on wavy (sinusoidal) protuberances/tubercles is investigated to understand the mechanisms by which they are able to reduce the noise produced through the interaction with turbulent mean flow. Numerical simulations are performed for non-lifting flat-plate aerofoils with straight and wavy leading edges (denoted by SLE and WLE, respectively) subjected to impi...

Performance and mechanism of sinusoidal leading edge serrations for the reduction of turbulence-aerofoil interaction noise

This paper presents the results of a detailed experimental investigation into the effectiveness of sinusoidal leading edge serrations on aerofoils for the reduction of the noise generated by the interaction with turbulent flow. A detailed parametric study is performed to investigate the sensitivity of the noise reductions to the serration amplitude and wavelength. The study is primarily perform...

Noise generated by a leading edge in anisotropic turbulence

The noise generated by the interaction of a turbulent inflow with the leading edge of a flat plate or an airfoil is a dominant sound source, for example in rotor-stator configurations of fans and air condition units. Aeroacoustic research of this noise source often includes performing wind tunnel experiments, where the required incident turbulence is generated by passive grids or meshes. In cer...

Symmetric airfoil geometry effects on leading edge noise.

Computational aeroacoustic methods are applied to the modeling of noise due to interactions between gusts and the leading edge of real symmetric airfoils. Single frequency harmonic gusts are interacted with various airfoil geometries at zero angle of attack. The effects of airfoil thickness and leading edge radius on noise are investigated systematically and independently for the first time, at...
