Effective Harmonic Cancellation Technique for a Three-Phase Four-Wire System

An excess non-linear and unbalanced load application increases the power quality (PQ) problem by injecting harmonic current. The avoidance of neutral current control creates additional PQ problems due to circulating in modern 3φ4W applications. Therefore, this manuscript suggests improved αβ transform-based voltage approaches for both 3φ3W shunt active filter (SAF) In proposed approach, a novel combined (NCVC) approach is presented systems using closed-loop controllers. However, absence current, NCVC not sufficient system application. considering reference parameter generated from NCVC, compensation technique (NHCT) with proper mathematical expressions To show importance NHCT over traditional P-Q-R control, developed MATLAB/Simulink model tested different 1φ 3φ nonlinear/unbalanced conditions. comparative results indicate that, NHCT, contains lesser total distortion (THD) mitigation ratio (HMR), less ripple frequency, an factor, balanced active/reactive condition.
