Modern internal combustion engines are designed to meet new emission standards and reduce fuel consumption. The wide application of direct injection is associated with the problem injector contamination. It leads a deterioration engine’s environmental performance. paper aims evaluate effect applying gasoline–butanol blends appropriate additives on formation deposits. research involved testing engine dynamometer, evaluating tips visually at 1000× magnification, registering spray using high-speed imaging techniques laser halogen lighting source. operating reference was coke tip linear pattern. increased time keep point constant over 48 h test. 20% (v/v) butanol reduced deposit formation. best scavenging results were obtained by extending next 24 cleaning procedure. procedure included additive in addition butanol. Among cases analyzed, combination DCA (Deposit Control Additive) method for patency restoration.
