Effects of a Cylinder Liner Microstructure on Lubrication Condition of a Twin-Land Oil Control Ring and a Piston Skirt of an Internal Combustion Engine

چکیده
It is hypothesized that structured sliding-surfaces improve the lubrication condition by forming an oil sump on sliding surface, redistributing oil, and trapping wear debris. For these reasons, have been used as a friction reduction method for long time. In this work, effects of microstructure laid cylinder liner internal combustion engine twin-land control ring (TLOCR) piston skirt were investigated comparing between conventional fine-honed (CFL) micro-structured with CFL. The measurements using floating showed improved reducing hydrodynamic friction. On other hand, it was also observed could result in elevated under certain operating conditions.

15 صفحه اولA Short Review of Internal Combustion Engine Frictional Losses: Specific Studies of Piston Skirt
Energy savings by reducing the thermal and mechanical losses in machines is of major concern due to continuous depletion of energy resources. Frictional losses of engine components cause energy losses leading to high fuel consumption. In piston assembly, piston skirt and liner interaction contribute as much as a frictional loss as the piston rings but more studies have been focused on piston ri...
متن کاملon translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach
abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...
Effects of Surface Irregularities on Piston Ring- Cylinder Tribo Pair of a Two Stroke Motor Engine in Hydrodynamic Lubrication
Tribological parameters such as friction, lubrication and wear influence strongly the engine component's life. In this study, a piston ring-cylinder system simulated taking into account the surface modifications under fully flooded lubrication and normal engine conditions. The hydrodynamic pressure field solved based on the Navier Stokes equations by Fluid Structure Interaction analysis. A real...
