Effects of a Rehabilitation Exercise Program Using Electro Muscle Stimulation following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on the Circumference, Activity, and Function of the Quadriceps Muscle

چکیده

The current study compared the effects of exercise program and a rehabilitation (REP) with electro muscle stimulation (EMS) on participants who had anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. control group (CONG, n = 12) (EMSG, were equally assigned among 24 patients underwent ACL For 12 weeks, CONG executed REP, EMSG added EMS into REP. Every participant in rehabilitative completed two 60 min sessions each week for total weeks. Both pre- post-evaluation before after workout session. IKDC (International Knee Documentation Committee) score, Lysholm thigh circumference, muscular activity, isokinetic function variables examined. exposed significant increase (p < 0.05) activity vastus medialis (VM), rectus femoris (RM), lateralis (VL), (peak torque, work). However, only showed score 0.05). This proved that REP employing following reconstruction enhanced activation during contraction when to it using is an effective strategy.

Effects of exercise on lower extremity muscle function after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

PURPOSE Persistent quadriceps weakness due to arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI) has been reported after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Fatiguing exercise has been shown to alter lower extremity muscle function and gait mechanics, which may be related to injury risk. The effects of exercise on lower extremity function in the presence of AMI are not currently understood. The p...

Electrical stimulation versus electromyographic biofeedback in the recovery of quadriceps femoris muscle function following anterior cruciate ligament surgery.

Both electrical stimulation and electromyographic biofeedback have been shown to be more effective than voluntary isometric exercise alone in the recovery of quadriceps femoris muscle force following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. In a comparison of these two modalities, 30 patients with ACL reconstruction were randomly assigned to either a group receiving electrical stimulati...

The Use of Eccentrically Biased Resistance Exercise to Mitigate Muscle Impairments Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

BACKGROUND Novel interventions that can safely and effectively overload muscle early following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction are needed to minimize atrophy and weakness that often becomes longstanding. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION Eccentrically induced forces can be safely applied during the early stages of rehabilitation following surgery and serve as a potent stimulus for increasing mus...

Failure of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

The present review classifies and describes the multifactorial causes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery failure, concentrating on preventing and resolving such situations. The article particularly focuses on those causes that require ACL revision due to recurrent instability, without neglecting those that affect function or produce persistent pain. Although primary ACL reconstructio...
