Effects of different fracture parameters on microseisms induced by hydraulic fracturing

Abstract The microseism induced by hydraulic fracturing is of great significance to the development geothermal reservoirs and site selection systems. In this study, taking field data from Qiabuqia as a geological reference, several models are developed for simulations based on included in commercial FracMan™ software suit. A series numerical carried out explore effects different fracture parameters, including existence faults, in-situ stress state, occurrence, distribution near microseisms. results show that during fracturing, faults does affect propagation direction newly generated fractures, causing fractures extend toward fault. also increase magnitude microseismic events make farther. Under three states, magnitudes microseisms distance between injection wells different, mainly due forms energy release. total under reverse faulting state (RF) largest. normal (NF), number least, with only 28, these concentrated well, farthest 150 m. occurrence has significant effect microseisms, affecting range With same concentration fault increases, both maximum increase.
