Effects of Engine on Penetration Performance of Semi-Armor Piercing Warhead

Abstract In the structural layout of missiles and rockets, engine is generally placed behind warhead. order to investigate effects on penetration performance semi-armor piercing (SAP) warheads, this study numerically simulated oblique an SAP warhead a free-flight rocket into armor plates. The results showed that under condition penetration, compressive force underwent was asymmetric attitude changes made body easily compressed by target plate. addition, constraint found suppress deflection reduce projectile deformation.
