Effects of Nitrogen Applications on Transpiration, Physiological, and Growth Characteristics of Sugarcane (Saccharum spp.)

Improving fertilizer and water use efficiencies is an important strategy in agricultural production. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nitrogen fertilization on daily whole-plant transpiration, growth, physiological activities sugarcane. The pot experiment was conducted under glass-house conditions. Five treatments various application rates (0, 4, 8, 12, 16mM) were assigned a randomized complete block design with three replications. result showed that higher applications led physiological, biomass parameters. Nevertheless, efficiency photosynthetic declined because applying at rates. During first weeks plant no significant differences height, leaf number, SPAD, transpiration among indicated added not necessary during this time. Nitrogen could be improved if remaining soil crop growth stage requirements are estimated cultivation practice.
