چکیده
Relevance. From the theory of hydrodynamics, it is known about interaction a pair vortices in inviscid fluids. The relevance study conditioned upon presence many studies numerical simulations interactions two or cylinders, but lack research practical installations for observing effects attraction and repulsion fluid media may slow down this area application. Purpose. purpose demonstration possibility effect double air, with calculation approximate magnitude force tending to attract repel each cylinders. Methods. In experiment, plastic cylinders are used, which driven by engines rotate next other air at atmospheric pressure. Numerical simulation shows nature allows predicting generated rotating on other. relationship between directions rotation observed was verified using finite volumes OpenFOAM version 9. stability of shear-thickening and shear-thinning fluids in narrow gap between rotating cylinders
the effect of weak shear thickening and shear thinning on the stability of the taylor-couette flow is explored for a carreau-bird fluid in the narrow-gap limit. the galerkin projection method is used to derive a low-order dynamical system from the conservation of mass and momentum equations. in comparison with the newtonian system, the present equations include additional nonlinear coupling in ...
متن کاملTunable capillary-induced attraction between vertical cylinders.
Deformation of a fluid interface caused by the presence of objects at the interface can lead to large lateral forces between objects. We explore these fluid-mediated attractive force between partially submerged vertical cylinders. Forces are experimentally measured by slowly separating cylinder pairs and cylinder triplets after capillary rise is initially established for cylinders in contact. F...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation of Non-Newtonians Fluids Flows between Two Rotating Cylinders Using Lattice Boltzmann Method
A numerical investigation is performed for non Newtonian fluids flow between two concentric cylinders. The D2Q9 lattice Boltzmann model developed from the Bhatangar-Gross-Krook (LBGK) approximation is used to obtain the flow field for fluids obeying to the power-law model. The inner and outer cylinders rotate in the same and the opposite direction while the end walls are maintained at rest. The...

Calcium entry into the dendritic spines of excitatory neurons is important for many forms of synaptic plasticity. In this issue, Hoogland and Saggau continue efforts to inventory the calcium channels that function in dendritic spines. They evoked backpropagating action potentials at the soma of CA1 neurons in rat hippocampal slices and recorded calcium transients in basal dendrites and spines u...
متن کاملOrientation repulsion and attraction in alignment perception
Orientation masking induces changes of discrimination thresholds and perceived orientation. Studies on alignment discrimination of Vernier stimuli concentrated on masking induced changes of discrimination thresholds, without considering possible changes of perceived orientation and/or alignment of the two-line segments. Measuring both parameters in an orientation discrimination task, we confirm...
