Effects of Residual Xanthate on Flotation Efficiency of a Cu-Zn Sulfide Ore

Reuse of process water in the flotation sulfide ores has crucial importance for environmental sustainability and improved economy. However, chemistry may be a critical subject efficiency as dissolved ion concentration increases with reuse. In this study, effects reuse on Cu-Zn ore were investigated. The flowsheet consists pre-flotation section to remove naturally floatable talc particles, sequential copper zinc sections. Calcium, sulfate, thiosulfate, xanthate found major contaminating ionic species discharged from circuits. tests recirculated rougher tailing revealed that presence residual caused unintentional activation minerals pre-float section. Copper recovery increased resulted loss concentrate, which is considered stream current flowsheet. Various types activated carbon samples tested water. could regenerated by heat treatment reused treatment. Performance was directly related pore size surface area. Carbon-treated re-used without affecting performance.
