Effects of Some Nutritional Factors on the Growth of Chlorella vulgaris in a Mixotrophic Cultivation

The microalgae Chlorella vulgaris is not only known as a source of lipid compounds for the biofuel industry but also potential biomass production aquaculture. This study investigated influence some nutritional factors (organic carbon and C:N ratio) on growth rate vulgaris. Glucose, sodium acetate, sucrose were used to check effect sources. Meanwhile, five different ratios (1:1, 6:1, 12:1, 18:1, 24:1) tested. Results showed that glucose was most suitable organic development vulgaris; ratio C:N=18:1 equivalent 52.92 mmol/L 2.94 nitrogen appropriate promote increase. maximum C. recorded in this 0.58±0.03 day-1 treatment supplemented with at C:N=18:1.
