چکیده

Objectives: The aim of the study was to find out efficacy thoracic segmental spinal anesthesia combined with unilateral erector spinae block in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection Methods: This a prospective cohort which 40 carcinoma breast under were included on basis predefined inclusion exclusion criteria. Erector plane given at T5 level then T5–T6 same position by median or paramedian technique. Patients assessed for severity pain visual analog scale score till 24 h surgery. Results: mean age studied cases found be 44.12±10.04 years. Mean weight 54.38±9.8 kg, whereas duration surgery 98.24±16.86 min. most common American Society Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade belonged ASA III (55%) followed II (30%) I (15%). Eleven required rescue analgesia within first after doses 1st 0.92±0.48. Four (10%) developed hypotension, three (7.5%) had bradycardia. However, all these 7 (17.5%) transient bradycardia hypotension could managed IV Atropine mephentermine fluid bolus. Conclusion: Thoracic is an excellent option dissection.

General anesthesia with thoracic paravertebral block for modified radical mastectomy.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of single-injection paravertebral block (PVB) combined with general anesthesia on 24-hour postoperative morphine requirement in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy (MRM). MATERIAL AND METHOD 20 patients were randomly assigned into 2 groups. Patients in the control group were given only general anesthesia. Patients in the PVB group received 0.3 ml/k...

Thoracic paravertebral block performance for modified radical mastectomy with axillary dissection in a patient with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

We present the case of an 86-year-old patient with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease undergoing modified radical mastectomy with axillary dissection by thoracic paravertebral block (PVB). Use of thoracic PVB provided hemodynamic and respiratory stability, excellent unilateral anesthesia and high patient satisfaction.

The Erector Spinae Plane Block: A Novel Analgesic Technique in Thoracic Neuropathic Pain.

Thoracic neuropathic pain is a debilitating condition that is often poorly responsive to oral and topical pharmacotherapy. The benefit of interventional nerve block procedures is unclear due to a paucity of evidence and the invasiveness of the described techniques. In this report, we describe a novel interfascial plane block, the erector spinae plane (ESP) block, and its successful application ...

Axillary recurrence after modified radical mastectomy.

Optimal management for axillary recurrence is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors for overall survival in the patients with axillary recurrence. Data of 1098 patients were collected from breast cancer registers from Clinic for Oncology Nis between 1990-1995. All patients underwent modified radical mastectomy. Axillary recurence was diganosed in 43 (3.92%) p...

In response to: Comparison of paravertebral and interpleural block in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy

BACKGROUND Paravertebral and inter pleural blocks (IPB) reduce post-operative pain and decrease the effect of post-operative pain on lung functions after breast surgery. This study was designed to determine their effect on lung functions and post-operative pain in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 120 American Society of Anesthesiologists physic...
