Efficient and fast degradation of 4-nitrophenol and detection of Fe(III) ions by Poria cocos extract stabilized silver nanoparticles

In this study, a simple and environment-friendly method has been successfully applied for the production of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Poria cocos extract. The reaction time 60 min, temperature 90 °C, ion concentration 2.0 mM were identified as best condition PC-AgNPs fabrication. XRD analysis confirmed highly crystalline face-centered cubic structure biosynthesized material. presented separately in spherical shape with an average crystal size 20 nm, endorsed by TEM FE-SEM measurements. presence crucial role biomolecules stabilizing elucidated FTIR, EDX, DLS techniques. prepared biogenic further reduction 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) colorimetric detection Fe3+ ions. study results proved that exhibited superior catalytic activity reusability conversion 4-NP NaBH4. complete could be achieved 10 min pseudo-first-order rate constant 0.466 min?1, no significant performance loss was found when material reused five times. probe based on displayed outstanding sensitivity selectivity towards ions limit 1.5 ?M linear range 0–250 ?M.
