Efficient artificial light-harvesting systems with gel properties formed by ion recognition

نویسندگان

چکیده

A novel supramolecular gelator (G3) exhibited excellent selectivity toward Mg 2+ as well showed gelation abilities. Meanwhile, an efficient artificial light-harvesting system has been constructed between G3@Mg-sol or G3@Mg-gel and RhB.

Photoactive Nanomaterials Inspired by Nature: LTL Zeolite Doped with Laser Dyes as Artificial Light Harvesting Systems

The herein reported work describes the development of hierarchically-organized fluorescent nanomaterials inspired by plant antenna systems. These hybrid materials are based on nanostructured zeolitic materials (LTL zeolite) doped with laser dyes, which implies a synergism between organic and inorganic moieties. The non-interconnected channeled structure and pore dimensions (7.1 Å) of the inorga...

Artificial light-harvesting antenna systems grafted on a carbohydrate platform.

An enantiopure α-D-glucopyranoside derivative has been used as a platform to prepare artificial antenna systems based on bodipy subunits. Efficient and ultrafast energy transfer (in the fs and ps time regimes) takes place in the multibodipy systems.

Emergent Models for Artificial Light-Harvesting

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND Photovoltaic (PV) solar energy conversion is one of the most promising emerging renewable energy technologies and is likely to play an ever-increasing role in the future of electricity generation. The potential of photovoltaics is considered to be much larger than the current energy demand, which is equivalent to ≈13,000 millions tons of oil (BP, 2014). Together with...

Properties of cytotoxic peptide-formed ion channels.

Cytotoxic peptides are relatively small cationic molecules such as those found 1) in venoms, e.g., melittin in bee, scorpion toxins in scorpion, pilosulin 1 in jumper ant, and lycotoxin I and II in wolf spider; 2) in skin secretions (e.g., magainin I and II from Xenopus laevis, dermaseptin from frog, antimicrobials from carp) and cells of the immune system (e.g., insect, scorpion, and mammalian...

Recognition of light-openings in Iranian mosques’ domes With reference to climatic properties

Mosque architecture is considered as a potent visual symbol of the Islamic architects’ design ability. Prayer-hall as the manifestation of equality between the believers and the unity of architectural space has challenged such an ability throughout the history. This study, considering the characteristics of light-openings in the domes of Iranian mosques’ Prayer-hall, aims to investigate thes...
