Unitary Matrix Models and Phase Transition
We study the unitary matrix model with a topological term. We call the topological term the theta term. In the symmetric model there is the phase transition at λc = 2. If the Wilson term is larger than the theta term, there is the phase transition at the same λc. On the other hand, if the theta term is larger than the Wilson term, there is no phase transition.
متن کاملUnitary Evolution on a Discrete Phase Space
We construct unitary evolution operators on a phase space with power of two discretization. These operators realize the metaplectic representation of the modular group SL(2,Z2n). It acts in a natural way on the coordinates of the non-commutative 2-torus, T2n and thus is relevant for noncommutative field theories as well as theories of quantum space-time. The class of operators may also be usefu...
متن کاملIterative decoding of space-time differentially coded unitary matrix modulation
Noncoherent communication over the Rayleigh flat fading channel with multiple transmit and receive antennas is investigated. Codes achieving bit error rate (BER) lower than 10 4 at bit energy over the noise spectral density ratio ( 0) of 0.8 to 2.8 dB from the capacity limit were found with coding rates of 0.5 to 2.25 bits per channel use. The codes are serial concatenation of a turbo code and ...
متن کاملThe Solution Space of the Unitary Matrix Model String Equation and the Sato Grassmannian
The space of all solutions to the string equation of the symmetric unitary one-matrix model is determined. It is shown that the string equation is equivalent to simple conditions on points V1 and V2 in the big cell Gr (0) of the Sato Grassmannian Gr. This is a consequence of a well-defined continuum limit in which the string equation has the simple form [P,Q−] = 1, with P and Q− 2× 2 matrices o...
متن کاملUnitary IIB Matrix Model and the Dynamical Generation of the Space Time
We propose a unitary matrix model as a regularization of the IIB matrix model of Ishibashi-Kawai-Kitazawa-Tsuchiya (IKKT). The fermionic part is incorporated using the overlap formalism in order to avoid unwanted “doublers” while preserving the global gauge invariance. This regularization, unlike the one adopted by IKKT, has manifest U(1)10 symmetry, which corresponds to the ten-dimensional tra...
