Energy Efficiency of small Induction Machines: Comparison between Motor and Generator Mode
The market of small or micro electric energy generation units, often combined with local heat production, is becoming increasingly important. For these applications the classical asynchronous machine with cage rotor is an interesting generator. The grid-connected induction generator has some advantages over the synchronous generators: e.g. it is cheap, robust and maintenance-free. Since the ind...
متن کاملA Stacked-type Electrostatic Actuator and Measurement of its Energy Efficiency
We have studied a stacked-type electrostatic actuator by folding two ribbon electrodes in an alternate configuration. The energy efficiency of this type of actuator was investigated using the thick-electrode-part actuator and triangle-shaped actuator. The maximum energy efficiency levels were 30–40% for the thick-electrode-part actuator and 40–50% for the triangle-shaped actuator.

متن کاملElectrostatic Swing Energy Harvester
Generation of the electric power by permanently polarized (electret containing) capacitor is analyzed and investigated in the matter of energy harvesting from oscillations and rotation. Experimentally demonstrated the generation of short high-voltage (up to 1 MV) pulses or low voltage (few volts) alternating current that can be rectified and stored.
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
