Energy Internet-Based Load Shifting in Smart Microgrids: An Experimental Study

چکیده
This study investigated a grid-connected smart microgrid (MG) system integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery energy storage (BESS) as distributed resources (DERs) to locally serve residential loads. The load-shifting demand-side management (DSM) technique was employed effectively manage the load appliances. proposed algorithm relies on minimum price incentives allow customers allocate their appliances economically during periods. considers waiting times tariff periods for appliances, calculates precise operating durations each appliance, prioritizes powering from MG first, followed by main grid. comprises two non-shiftable three shiftable When power is insufficient activate all loads, transfers remaining unsupplied with low-priced energy. Energy Internet concept adopted monitor usage when customer unable check accuracy of meter supervising system’s features on-site. comprehensive enables management, continuous monitoring, awareness, cost saving. Six cases were studied, both numerically experimentally, varying generation pre-scheduling periods, without DSM application. In cases, implemented save costs at least 50%.

Assisted energy management in smart microgrids
Demand response provides utilities with a mechanism to share with end users the stochasticity resulting from the use of renewable sources. Pricing is accordingly used to reflect energy availability, to allocate such a limited resource to those loads that value it most. However, the strictly competitive mechanism can result in service interruption in presence of competing demand. To solve this i...
متن کاملInterconnecting Microgrids via the Energy Router with Smart Energy Management
A novel and flexible interconnecting framework for microgrids and corresponding energy management strategies are presented, in response to the situation of increasing renewable-energy penetration and the need to alleviate dependency on energy storage equipment. The key idea is to establish complementary energy exchange between adjacent microgrids through a multiport electrical energy router, ac...
متن کاملUnderstanding Microgrids as the Essential Architecture of Smart Energy
This paper describes microgrids in the smart grid architecture, autonomous systems interacting through the Energy Services Interface as defined by the OASIS Energy Interoperation [1] specification. We define for the purposes of system architecture what a microgrid is. The several types of existing microgrids are defined, based on the motivations of those that operate them, the technologies they...
متن کاملShifting Electricity Demand with Smart Home Technologies – an Experimental Study on User Acceptance
Integrating high shares of renewable resources into the electricity system requires a more flexible demand, especially more load-shifting in residential households. In order to achieve that different technologies, especially smart meters with various feedback functions, are tested on the market. So far little is known about the effects of a combination of different smart home technologies, such...
متن کاملAn Indoor Positioning System Based on Wi-Fi for Energy Management in Smart Buildings
To offer indoor services to occupants in the context of smart buildings, it is necessary to consider information concerning to the identity and location of the occupants. This paper proposes an indoor positioning system (IPS) based on Wi-Fi fingerprint and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) method. The positioning of a mobile device (MD) using Wi-Fi technology involves online and offline phases. In this...
