Enhanced Activity for CO Preferential Oxidation over CuO Catalysts Supported on Nanosized CeO2 with High Surface Area and Defects

چکیده

Nanosizedceria (n-CeO2) was synthesized by a facile method in 2-methylimidazolesolution. The characterization results of XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption, Raman and TEM indicate that n-CeO2 shows regular size 10 ± 1 nm, high surface area 130 m2·g−1 oxygen vacancies on the surface. A series CuO/n-CeO2 catalysts (CuCeOX) with different copper loading were prepared for preferential oxidation CO H2-rich gases (CO-PROX). All CuCeOX exhibit catalytic activity due to excellent structural properties n-CeO2, over which 100% conversion is obtained at 120 °C. increases order CuCeO12 < CuCeO3 CuCeO6 CuCeO9. It good agreement amount active Cu+ species, Ce3+ species these catalysts, suggesting strength interaction between highly dispersed CuO decisive factor activity. stronger formation more readily reducible CuCeO9, highest stability broadest temperature “window” complete (120–180 °C).

Preferential CO oxidation in hydrogen (PROX) on ceria supported catalysts PART II. Oxidation states and surface species on Pd/CeO2 under reac- tion conditions, suggested reaction mechanism

The aim of the PROX reaction is to reduce the CO content of hydrogen feed to proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) by selective oxidation of CO in the presence of excess hydrogen. Both Pt and Pd on ceria are active in CO oxidation (without hydrogen) while Pd is poorly active in the presence of hydrogen. In this paper we aimed at finding the reasons of such behavior, using the same techniq...

Preferential CO oxidation in hydrogen (PROX) on ceria supported catalysts PART I. Oxidation state and surface species on Pt/CeO2 under reaction conditions

The CO content of hydrogen feed to proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) must be kept under 1-100 ppm for their proper operation. This can be achieved by using catalysts able to selectively oxidize CO in the presence of excess hydrogen (PROX). The present study reports on the mechanism of PROX reaction on Pt/CeO2 catalyst, by using catalytic tests, in-situ DRIFTS, high-pressure XPS, HRTEM...

Au/CeO2 Catalysts: Structure and CO Oxidation Activity

In this comprehensive review, the main aspects of using Au/CeO2 catalysts in oxidation reactions are considered. The influence of the preparation methods and synthetic parameters, as well as the characteristics of the ceria support (presence of doping cations, oxygen vacancies concentration, surface area, redox properties, etc.) in the dispersion and chemical state of gold are revised. The prop...

Synthesis and CO Oxidation Activity of 1D Mixed Binary Oxide CeO2-LaOx Supported Gold Catalysts

One-dimensional (1D) Ce-La nanorods with different La contents (Ce and La in the molar ratio of 1:0, 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, and 0:1) were synthesized by hydrothermal process. Au/Ce-La nanorod catalysts were obtained by a modified deposition-precipitation method. The samples were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption (BET), ICP, X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM, TEM, EDX, X-ray photoelectron spectroscop...
