Enhanced enzymolysis and bioethanol yield from tobacco stem waste based on mild synergistic pretreatment
نویسندگان
چکیده
The use of mild pretreatment conditions can significantly lower the cost biorefining process. This study evaluated a approach for tobacco stem waste using combination dilute acid and alkali. By optimizing conditions, we obtained high reducing sugar concentration at temperature <100°C. Increasing or alkali strength in single step did not always improve result; instead, synergistic effect both components was important. To increase bioethanol titer, solid loading, 30%, used fermentation. Compared with batch fermentation, enzyme feeding shorter period (24 h) enhanced production by 4.32%, generating 86.88 g/L bioethanol. results provide valuable insights into effects two-step acid/alkali on enzymolysis. findings suggest that optimized process is efficient

Production of bioethanol using agricultural waste: Banana pseudo stem
India is amongst the largest banana (Musa acuminata) producing countries and thus banana pseudo stem is commonly available agricultural waste to be used as lignocellulosic substrate. Present study focuses on exploitation of banana pseudo stem as a source for bioethanol production from the sugars released due to different chemical and biological pretreatments. Two fungal strains Aspergillus elli...

BACKGROUND Understanding the effects of pretreatment on anaerobic digestion of sludge waste from wastewater treatment plants is becoming increasingly important, as impetus moves towards the utilization of sludge for renewable energy production. Although the field of sludge pretreatment has progressed significantly over the past decade, critical questions concerning the underlying microbial inte...
متن کاملBioethanol production from rice straw by popping pretreatment
BACKGROUND Rice straw has considerable potential as a raw material for bioethanol production. Popping pretreatment of rice straw prior to downstream enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation was found to increase cellulose to glucose conversion efficiency. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of popping pretreatment and determine the optimal enzyme loading using a surface response...
متن کاملSynergistic Optimal Integration of Continuous and Fed-Batch Reactors for Enhanced Productivity of Lignocellulosic Bioethanol
With significant technological advances in metabolic engineering, there are currently available efficient recombinant yeast strains capable of fermenting lignocellulosic sugars (i.e., glucose and xylose) to bioethanol. Conventional batch fermentation, preferred in most bioprocesses, may not provide the most appropriate environments for those engineered strains to perform their best. In this art...
