Enhanced GNSS Authentication Based on the Joint CHIMERA/OSNMA Scheme

The authentication of the navigation signals can be considered as contribution system to robustness against spoofing attacks and it is becoming an important requirement for a growing number user communities. GPS Galileo systems are proposing evolutions their civil embed features authentication. For Galileo, Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) integrated in E1 OS signal. GPS, Chips-Message Robust (Chimera) solution, designed L1C signal, foreseen tested soon. On other hand, suitable signal processing techniques implemented inside receiver monitor quality received protect attacks. Such shall work complement strategies, further increase signals’ robustness. Within this context, paper presents Joint Chimera/OSNMA scheme, adopted by multi-constellation that already exploits both OSNMA Chimera enhancements. idea strengthen with respect individual use two solutions, tackle sophisticated attacks, which able avoid detection from message (NMA) techniques. manuscript proves high performance joint presenting results wide bench tests, under different scenarios spoofing, conditions.
