چکیده

In this paper, ferrites are applied in a partitioned stator wound field switched flux (PS-WFSF) machine to increase the air-gap density, and hence, average electromagnetic torque overload capability. Introducing short-circuited inner PS-WFSF can open-circuit phase fundamental back-EMF at 60 W copper loss by 2.33% 3.77%, respectively. Moreover, proposed with exhibit better capability than conventional machines without ferrites, e.g., 7.36% increment be achieved when is 120 W. The mechanism analyzed verified using finite element (FE) analysis. demagnetization of under rated on-load conditions investigated. Both prototypes one ferrite built tested validate analytical FE analyses.

A High Torque Density Axial Flux SRM with Modular Stator

A novel structure of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) is proposed. The proposed structure uses the benefits of the axial flux path, short flux path, segmental rotor, and flux reversal free stator motors all together to improve the torque density of the SRMs. The main geometrical, electrical and physical specifications are presented. In addition, some features of the proposed structure are comp...

Analysis and Simulation of Axial Flux Switched Reluctance Motor with Modified Stator Structure in Static and Dynamic Conditions

In this paper, a new structure of axial flux switched reluctance motors (AFSRMs) is proposed. Different combinations of rotors and stators affect motor torque and its performance. In this regard, changing the stator structure of the AFSRM leads to better results for torque and magnetic flux. The advantages of the proposed structure are short flux path, segmental rotor with improved flux density...

Computation of Electromagnetic Torque in a Double Rotor Switched Reluctance Motor Using Flux Tube Methods

With their highly robust nature and simple design, switched reluctance machines are finding their way into numerous modern day applications. However, they produce oscillatory torque that generates torque ripple and mechanical vibrations. A double rotor structure to maximize the flux linkage and thereby increase the torque generating capability is proposed. As the machine operates close to satur...

Performance Comparison of 24slot-10pole and 12slot-8pole Wound Field Three-phase Switched-flux Machine

This paper presents a comparative study of two types of wound field three-phase switched-flux machine (SFM) with non-overlap winding and salient rotor. Both armature and field winding are located on the stator and rotor is composed of only stack of iron. Non-overlap armature and field windings and toothed-rotor are the clear advantages of these machines as the copper losses gets reduce and roto...

Design Optimization of Switched Reluctance Machines for Maximum Torque/Current Using BEM-Based Sensitivity Analysis

One challenge to predict output performance characteristics of switched reluctance machines (SRM) is the accurate estimation of the minimum inductance of the stator phase at unaligned position of the rotor. In this paper, boundary element method (BEM) is used for this purpose while avoiding time-consuming numerical integrations. So, the method is investigated in terms of accuracy and computatio...
