Entanglement entropy of disjoint spacetime intervals in causal set theory

چکیده

A more complete understanding of entanglement entropy in a covariant manner could inform the search for quantum gravity. We build on work this direction by extending previous results to disjoint regions $1+1$D. investigate scalar field intervals within causal set framework, using spacetime commutator and correlator, $i\mathbf{\Delta}$ $\mathbf{W}$ (or Pauli-Jordan Wightman functions), respectively. new truncation scheme diamonds is presented, which follows from single diamond scheme. setups including two three diamonds, as well that shares boundary with larger global diamond. In all cases we study, our agree expected area laws. addition, study mutual information setup. The ease calculations indicate methods be useful tool numerically studying such systems. end discussion some strengths future applications formulation use computations, both theory continuum.

Finite entanglement entropy from the zero-point area of spacetime

The calculation of entanglement entropy S of quantum fields in spacetimes with horizon shows that, quite generically, S is (a) proportional to the area A of the horizon and (b) divergent. I argue that this divergence, which arises even in the case of Rindler horizon in flat spacetime, is yet another indication of a deep connection between horizon thermodynamics and gravitational dynamics. In an...

Counting entropy in causal set quantum gravity

The finiteness of black hole entropy suggest that spacetime is fundamentally discrete, and hints at an underlying relationship between geometry and ”information”. The foundation of this relationship is yet to be uncovered, but should manifest itself in a theory of quantum gravity. We review recent attempts to define a microscopic measure for black hole entropy and for the maximum entropy of sph...

Causal Set Phenomenology in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker Spacetime

The causal set approach to quantum gravity states that spacetime is not a continuous Lorenztian manifold but a causal set composed of discrete spacetime elements together with their causal relations. It is argued that using only causality and discreteness, one can recover a more fundamental theory of gravitation with interesting qualities. Though the theory is incomplete, some phenomenological ...

Entanglement entropy in SU(N) gauge theory

The entanglement entropy of SU(N) lattice gauge theory is studied exactly in 1 + 1 space-time dimensions and in Migdal-Kadanoff approximation in higher dimensional space. The existence of a non-analytical behavior reminiscent of a phase transition for a characteristic size of the entangled region is demonstrated for higher dimensional theories.

Spinor fields in Causal Set Theory

The goal of this paper is to define fermionic fields on causal set. This is done by the use of holonomies to define vierbines, and then defining spinor fields by taking advantage of the leftover degrees of freedom of holonomies plus additional scalar fields. Grassmann nature is being enforced by allowing measure to take both positive and negative values, and also by introducing a vector space t...
