Environmental correlates of taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity in the Atlantic Forest

چکیده
Aim There is little consensus on which environmental variables are best at predicting multiple dimensions of diversity. We ask whether there common correlates diversity, despite ecological differences, across nine clades plants and animals distributed along a single rainforest domain. For that, we compare the species richness, phylogenetic endemism. Location Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Taxon:Five (Bromelioideae, Miconieae, Bertolonia, Cambessedesieae, Fridericia allies) four (butterlies in tribe Ithomiini, frogs genera Boana Proceratophrys, birds subfamily Thraupinae). Methods Using curated occurrence localities data, generated maps (a) (b) (c) residuals diversity regressed (d) endemism for all groups. also compiled set 30 descriptors, including records current temperature precipitation, climatic stability over time, topography. Through machine learning framework, explored each these measures group. Results The used here were strong predictors studied However, models had lower predictive power. Although patterns different among groups, consistent taxa. both richness precipitation time consistently ranked that strongly correlate with patterns. less homogeneous results suggest climate important when reflect historical components. Main conclusions Investigating geographic area allows better understanding This study shows conditions, particularly good diversity-but not endemism-across Forest

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)
cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Edge-Related Loss of Tree Phylogenetic Diversity in the Severely Fragmented Brazilian Atlantic Forest
Deforestation and forest fragmentation are known major causes of nonrandom extinction, but there is no information about their impact on the phylogenetic diversity of the remaining species assemblages. Using a large vegetation dataset from an old hyper-fragmented landscape in the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest we assess whether the local extirpation of tree species and functional impoverishment ...

The impact of fire on the forest and plants diversity in Iranian Oak forest
Fire, as a natural ecological disturbance factor in forest, this study located in the Marivan region, Northern Zagros forest, and western Iranian state of Kurdistan. In each burned and unburned area 30 circle sample plot (1000 m2) were collected by randomized–systematic method in the 100×200 m net (in total 60 plots). In every sample plot the kind of species, number of tree, the heig...
