Environmental Life Cycle Analysis of Açaí (Euterpe oleracea) Powders Obtained via Two Drying Methods

Açaí is a fruit native to Brazil that found in Colombia, and it recognized for containing more than 90 compounds with anticancer, anti-inflammatory, other biological activities. In this study, cradle-to-gate life cycle analysis (LCA) was conducted the production of açaí powder, following methodology outlined ISO 14040 standard. The investigation focused on examining impact utilizing or not residues generated during pulp extraction step as fertilizers. Four scenarios were analyzed compared: (i) powder via vacuum drying, (ii) spray same two types drying but using from pulping operation fertilizer (Scenarios 3 4). It produce 1 kg crop cycle, 1.17 CO2 eq produced. stage Scenarios 2 8.04 7.93 eq, respectively.
