چکیده

To investigate the influence of multiple cycles aging and rejuvenation on rheological, chemical, morphological properties styrene–butadiene–styrene (SBS)-modified asphalt-binders, asphalt-binders were aged using two laboratory simulation methods, namely a rolling thin film oven (RTFO) test for short-term pressure vessel (PAV) long-term aging. The then rejuvenated with three types rejuvenators (Type I, II, III) different dosages (i.e., 6%, 10%, 14% first, second, third rejuvenation, respectively). A dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) was used to analyze effect rheological all asphalt-binders. changes in functional groups microscopic morphology process studied Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) atomic force microscopy (AFM). results indicated that could soften stiffness restore microstructures repeated from DSR AFM testing. Considering rutting fatigue properties, Type I rejuvenator exhibited potential achieve desired effects under cycles. During cycles, resistance SBSMA decreased gradually FTIR results. This inherently limited number research is conducive promoting application penetrating rejuvenation.

Rheological Properties and Chemical Bonding of Asphalt Modified with Nanosilica

The objective of this study is to evaluate the rheological properties and chemical bonding of nano-modified asphalt binders blended with nanosilica. In this study, the nanosilica was added to the control asphalt at contents of 4% and 6% based on the weight of asphalt binders. Superpave binder and mixture tests were utilized in this study to estimate the characteristics of the nano-modifed aspha...

Rheological properties and chemical analysis of nanoclay and carbon microfiber modified asphalt with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

This work aims to improve the rutting and fatigue cracking resistance of asphalt binders using selected nanoor micro-sized materials and to shed light on the microstructure changes induced by such modification to asphalt binders. The four modifiers (Nanomer I.44P, carbon microfiber, non-modified nanoclay and polymer modified nanoclay) were added into the control asphalt binder (PG 58-34). The S...
