چکیده

To clarify the applicability of Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) model for impact ductile fracture behaviour, SHB test was reproduced by finite element analysis (FEA). The strain-rate dependence strength austenitic stainless steel JIS SUS304L obtained tensile tests at quasi-static strain rate and rate. CowperSymonds power law, which takes into strength, GTN implemented in commercial FEA code were used to simulate ductile-fracture behaviour. parameters determined minimizing difference between simulated measured stress-strain curve using response surface method. from result. Simulation results did not occur necking on specimen. surfaces observed SEM micrograph. appearance since dimples are observed, regardless It is necessary adjust parameter accelerate nucleation void. By identifying consideration including would be possible improve simulation accuracy

A Continuum Damage Model for the Stress Corrosion Cracking of Austenitic Stainless Steel

In the present work, the mechanical behavior of stress corrosion cracking phenomenon is described. Such phenomenon presents strong complexity due to metallurgic and electrochemical aspects. A methodology for modeling both SSR (Slow Strain Rate) and CL (Constant Load) tests based upon thermodynamics of continuum solids and elastoplastic damage is proposed. In this macroscopic approach, besides t...

Effect of Constraint on Ductile Crack Growth and Ductile-Brittle Fracture Transition of a carbon Steel

Ductile-brittle fracture transition was investigated using compact tension (CT) specimens from -70 o C to 40 o C for a carbon steel. Large deformation finite element analysis has been carried out to simulate the stable crack growth in the compact tension (CT, a/W=0.6), three point-point bend (SE(B), a/W=0.1) and centre-cracked tension (M(T), a/W=0.5) specimens. Experimental crack tip opening di...
