Abstract. Samadi, Wajizah S, Pratama SM, Jayanegara A. 2023. Evaluation of nutritive values various non-conventional protein sources as potential feed ingredients for ruminants. Biodiversitas 24: 4069-4078. The purpose this study was to evaluate the ruminants, including chemical composition, in vitro digestibility, rumen fermentation, and methane emissions. Seven sources; grasshopper meal (GM), earthworm (EWM), fish by-product (FbPM), centipede (CM), snail (SM), ant eggs (AEM), mealworm (MWM) one conventional source; soybean (SBM) were used study. All samples dried at temperature 60oC 24h ground by use a hammer mill pass 1 mm sieve. utilized further analysis, Incubation conducted with three replications water bath maintained 39ºC 48h. data statistically analyzed using SPSS version 16 difference between treatments stated (P<0.05). results indicated that all contained CP. NDICP ADICP low. had high IVDMD IVOMD, highest FbPM (P<0.01). Methane emission lower than SBM

Evaluation of Single Cell Protein as a Non-Conventional Feedstuff in Broilers Feeding
Single cell protein (SCP) is the definition for dried cells originated from single-celled organisms intended to be used as a protein source in human foods or animal feeds. An experiment has been conducted to evaluate the various levels of single cell protein on fecal microflora and productive traits of broiler chickens. A total of 192 day-old Ross 308 male chicks were randomly divided into 4 tr...

Energy Values of Feed Ingredients for White Pekin Ducks
A modified true metabolizable energy bioassay was used to determine the nitrogen-corrected apparent (AMEn) and true (TMEn) metabolizable energy of various feed ingredients for ducks. In each of two experiments, which lasted 102 h with a 54-h excreta collection period following a 48-h period of feed withdrawal, six male White Pekin ducks were assigned to each of three test feed ingredients and d...

Two experiments were conducted to determine: first, the best time of excreta collection after force feeding of broilers to yield the maximal amount of excreta, and second, nitrogen-corrected true metabolizable energy contents of some poultry feedstuffs including yellow corn, soybean meal, corn gluten meal, canola meal and poultry by-product meal by a new precision-fed chick assay using 3-week-o...

AIM To evaluate some forage feeds of ruminants in terms of their carbohydrate (CHO) and protein fractions using Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS). MATERIALS AND METHODS Eleven ruminant feeds (six green fodders - maize, oat, sorghum, bajra, cowpea, berseem and five range herbages - para grass, guinea grass, hedge lucerne, setaria grass and hybrid napier) were selected for thi...
