چکیده
Objective: The study aimed to measure the levels of total thiol, an antioxidant parameter, in patients who presented emergency department (ED) with carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning under normobaric oxygen therapy (NBOT), evaluate time-dependent changes thiol within first 6 hours, and examine course antioxidants CO poisoning.
Materials Method: population consisted 85 diagnosed ED 50 volunteers. Total level was measured group at admission (T0), (T1) sixth hour (T6). Carboxyhemoglobin levels, cardiac markers, electrocardiography, routinely requested tests were investigated volunteer group. Results: There a significant decrease mean between T0 T1 (p

Carbon monoxide poisoning in patients presenting to the emergency department with a headache in winter months.
BACKGROUND Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is an important reason for emergency department (ED) visits during winter months, but because there are no specific symptoms it can be difficult to diagnose. We aimed to determine the frequency of CO poisoning in patients presenting to the ED with headaches during winter months and evaluate the ability of non-invasive carboxyhaemoglobin measurement (SpC...

Background: Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning may lead to hypoxic/anoxic injury and eventually ischemic encephalopathy. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has a well-recognized role in assessment of the severity of brain damage caused by CO poisoning. In this study, we aimed to present and analyze the structural abnormalities in the brain MRI and especially in diffusion weighted MRI (DWI) images in ...
متن کاملPrevalence of carbon monoxide poisoning in patients presenting to a large emergency department.
AIMS Carbon monoxide (CO) can cause lethal intoxication, but the burden of occult CO poisoning is still unclear. We aimed at prospectively assessing the number of patients with occult CO poisoning presenting to an emergency department within one year. METHODS Prospective, observational study according to the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) stateme...
