چکیده

Background and aimsThe TNF-superfamily member sTWEAK its scavenger receptor sCD163 are potentially involved in pathophysiological processes of atherosclerosis. In patients with peripheral arterial disease, previous research has shown that the sCD163/sTWEAK ratio were independently associated long term all-cause cardiovascular survival. Since investigations emphasized on symptomatic disease including critical limb ischemia, this study evaluates a cohort stable asymptomatic (Fontaine stage I) intermittent claudication II) patients.MethodssTWEAK concentrations 354 measured using commercially available ELISA kit. was quantified multiplex bead assay. Cox proportional hazards regression used to assess outcome after seven-year follow-up. Hazard ratios given as interquartile range.ResultsPatients exhibited increased levels comparison (p = 0.002). However, not related severity 0.740). A multivariable Cox-proportional hazard models risk factors (age, HbA1c, CRP, LDL-C, BMI, eGFR) revealed an inverse association mortality (HR 0.775 (95% CI 0.623–0.965) 0.710 0.534–0.944)). Further or showed no mortality.ConclusionsThis highlights use novel biomarker for PAD supports independent predictor even disease.

Evaluation of serum sTWEAK and sCD163 levels in patients with acute and chronic coronary artery disease.

BACKGROUND Recent studies have suggested soluble tumor necrotizing factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (sTWEAK) and sCD163 may be a potential cardiovascular biomarker. We aimed to evaluate sTWEAK and sCD163 levels and predictive values in patients with chronic coronary artery disease (CAD) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). METHODS Two hundred fourteen angiography-made patients were enrolle...

association of adiponectin with peripheral arterial disease and mortality in nondiabetic hemodialysis patients: long-term follow-up data of 7 years

background: the relationships between adiponectin and clinical outcomes in hemodialysis (hd) patients remain highly controversial. meanwhile, the association between adiponectin and the peripheral artery disease (pad) has not been well studied in hd patients without diabetic mellitus. materials and methods: the ankle-brachial index was measured in hd patients. adiponectin levels in 105 hd patie...

lower extremity arterial calcification as a predictor of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with peripheral arterial disease

conclusion peripheral arterial calcification is significantly correlated with cad extent in patients with pad. peripheral arterial calcification can be a useful marker for predicting multivessel-cad. results lecs in multivessel-cad were significantly higher than those in nonsignificant cad (10.0 ± 5.8 versus 4.0 ± 3.1, p < 0.001). lecs significantly correlated with ccs (r = 0.831, p < 0.001) an...
