چکیده
EWSR1, a protein whose role in meiosis was not previously clarified detail, binds to both the recombination regulator PRDM9 and phosphorylated meiosis-specific cohesin pREC8 male meiotic cells is essential for promoting PRDM9-dependent histone methylation normal progress.

PRDM9 interactions with other proteins provide a link between recombination hotspots and the chromosomal axis in meiosis
In mammals, meiotic recombination occurs at 1- to 2-kb genomic regions termed hotspots, whose positions and activities are determined by PRDM9, a DNA-binding histone methyltransferase. We show that the KRAB domain of PRDM9 forms complexes with additional proteins to allow hotspots to proceed into the next phase of recombination. By a combination of yeast-two hybrid assay, in vitro binding, and ...
متن کاملPrdm9 controls activation of mammalian recombination hotspots.
Mammalian meiotic recombination, which preferentially occurs at specialized sites called hotspots, ensures the orderly segregation of meiotic chromosomes and creates genetic variation among offspring. A locus on mouse chromosome 17, which controls activation of recombination at multiple distant hotspots, has been mapped within a 181-kilobase interval, three of whose genes can be eliminated as c...

This new study [14] allows us to think about a host of further questions. For example, are memories of the same events stored in a similar way by different people, at least to the degree to which the content of their memories are shared? For this, the patterns of brain activation do not need to be equal, but the amount of information stored in different structures and their relative contributio...
