Excitation of Localized Plasmons in Metal Nanoshell and Nanotube with Dielectric Cores

Metal nanoshells and nanotubes with dielectric cores are useful structures to change the surface plasmon frequencies in wide range. Here, our localized theory derived random phase approximation at high frequency condition is applied investigate excitations for metal cores, which embedded dielectrics. Assuming that local functions metals dielectrics have step function shapes interfaces quasi-static approximation, analytical formulas can be excitation. It found bonding antibonding plasmons excited when nanoshell nanotube finite thicknesses controlled range by changing ratio of inner radius outer one nanotube.
