Experimental Analysis of the R744/R404A Cascade Refrigeration System with Internal Heat Exchanger. Part 1: Coefficient of Performance Characteristics

This study evaluates the performance of an R744/R404A cascade refrigeration system (CRS) with internal heat exchangers (IHE) in supermarkets. R744 is used as refrigerant a low-temperature cycle, and R404A high-temperature cycle. In previous studies, there are many studies including theoretical analysis CRS. However, experimental on CRS lacking, research IHE scarce. Therefore, this provides basic data for optimal design by experimentally evaluating results modifying various parameters. The operating parameters considered include subcooling superheating, condensing evaporating temperature, evaporation efficiency low- main summarized follows: (1) By applying study, energy achieved optimizing overall coefficient (COP) CRS, charge cycle minimized economic also obtained, enabling operation maintenance environment-friendly system. (2) When designing finding temperature that has optimum maximum COP according to combination should be highest priority.
